The Village of Hütschenhausen

Hütschenhausen is the largest village in the Ramstein-Miesenbach Union Community and, in 1969, was formed by joining the villages of Hütschenhausen, Spesbach, and Katzenbach which had developed independently throughout the centuries. First mentioned in the 13th century, today the three villages form an attractive residential community with an excellent infra-structure.
Several trades and service organizations as well as physicians, pharmacies, food stores, butcher shops, bakeries, etc. provide for people's care, comfort and employment. Out-door sports facilities are located near the Spesbach and Hütschenhausen elementary schools. There are two church-sponsored daycare centers in Hütschenhausen and one in Spesbach.
Recently, attractive new residential areas were developed in outstanding locations and at affordable cost for the new home-owner. Spesbach has just completed development in the "Erste Langgewanne" area and is planning another development on its Eastern side. Plans are also in the process for an adjoining service and business park. In Hütschenhausen the village council has passed a motion for the development of a new area North of Buchenstrasse.
Despite the community's dynamic development the three parts of the village have maintained their historic structures. The village puts special emphasis on the protection and care of Nature and its surroundings. This was a major reason why Hütschenhausen was one of the finalists in the 1995 German "Beautiful Village" competition. Village life was further enhanced in 1988 by the completion of the Citizen's Hall (Bürgerhaus) in Hütschenhausen and the Village Community Hall in Katzenbach. The Hütschenhausen community hall also houses a library and a meeting place for young people.
Hütschenhausen has maintained a very active partnership with the French village of Précy sur Oise since 1995.
