The Village of Niedermohr
Niedermohr, on the Western boundary of Kaiserslautern County, is an attractive and diversified community. While Niedermohr and Schrollbach were first mentioned in 15th century documents, Reuschbach was not founded until 1692 in an area that once belonged to Obermohr.
All three parts of Niedermohr used to be agricultural communities. With the decline of farming, however, most people now commute to the business centers in the region to earn their livelihoods.
In the last three decades Niedermohr, Schrollbach and Reuschbach made great efforts to improve their infra-structure. The water/sewage system was expanded and modernized, a multi-purpose hall was built in Niedermohr, a kindergarten was established by renovating the old school house, and former school buildings were transformed into beautiful homes in Schrollbach and Reuschbach. Village squares, fountains and new residential areas were added.
Thanks to tremendous efforts in village renewal, Reuschbach in particular was able to develop into a show-piece within the Ramstein-Miesenbach Union Community.
The natural beauty of its surroundings is Niedermohr's biggest plus. People seeking rest and relaxation, beautiful natural surroundings, good air quality, and well maintained hiking paths will find Niedermohr the ideal place. A special highlight is the scenic view of the surrounding valleys from the Dietelsberg, the highest point in the Union Community.
